The next day did not provide much rest for the adventurers. The group decided to gather supplies on the nearby island, and when they approached Garm saw a familiar structure in the distance.
The structure it turned out, could not be seen by the rest of the crew, giving Garm reason to believe the building lied in a parallel plane, not Oceana, and quickly realized it may be one of Hell’s Prisons. Garm discussed with Korric, and the two decided that a prison on one of the Abyss’ upper planes would certainly be a good place to find allies, and quickly assembled a expedition party.
The Sable Drake’s crew gathered supplies on the island while the adventuring party prepared to move out. A cry from one of the crewmen near the forest line alerted the party to the presence of two assassin vine’s that planned to make meals out of their minions. Garm quickly flew to the more dire minion’s rescue, while the party dispatched a group of tribal orcs that descended upon them from nearby trees and brush. Finally, when the battle seemed to be winding down, a glowing saber flew from the tree line and cut down the remaining assassin vine. The saber flew backward into the hand of its one-armed wielder.
The cloaked man revealed himself to be a man named, a jedi who had decided to seclude himself on Oceana some time ago. Dravis questioned the adventurers intentions, and was quite taken aback by the answers he received; however, the man acknowledge the party’s power and decided to assist them in whatever way he could. Dravis agreed to lead them toward the structure that Garm had seen from the ship.
Dravis questioned Tarkus about his use of the force, claiming that the young mandalorian was Force Sensitive. The two had a long conversation detailing their different experiences with force users, and Dravis said that he may be able to assist Tarkus in using some of his latent ability. After spending a time alone in an old Sith ruin that Dravis had located on the island, Tarkus emerged stronger in the force.
After an uncharacteristically long display of patience, Garm decided it was time to launch an assault on the Carceri prison. Korric advised that stealth was the best approach, without knowing what lie inside, and the party agreed. The party phased the border’s between planes, and were hidden outside the prison’s walls. As Korric prepared to infiltrate, Garm saw a familiar face in the high tower of the prison, one of his traitorous vassal’s. Suddenly, stealth was out the window.
Garm quickly ascended after his ex-vassal, following him into the tower. Alerted to the party’s whereabouts the demon guards mounted a defense to repel the invaders. Korric continued to infiltrate the prison preparing to cause a prison break. Tarkus, Silil, and Thacious began to fight off the hordes of demon guards. Meanwhile, Garm began to battle several vicious demons in the upper levels of the prison.
Korric finally made it to the prison block, and broke the first lock of the prison. Much to his chagrin, he recognized the figure inside. Master Therion stepped out of his prison, cracked his neck, and quickly teleported out of Korric’s reach. Unsettled, Korric threw the though from his mind, but pressed on, convincing himself, it couldn’t get much worse. Garm shouted for Korric’s assist, so Korric freed one final prison, and proceeded up the tower. The Pale Stranger he freed sprang to life, thanking him and decided to teach the Demon’s about some Justice.
The battle pressed on, with Garm and compnay slaying a great many demons. However, Garm’s former Vassal, the Shadow Demon Itaxnael, proved to be more than a challenge for the weakened Overlord.
However, just as he was nearing defeat, Garm suddenly felt a wellspring of power flow through him. Harper, his Black Blade, began to hum, and Garm suddenly felt holy energy suffuse his body.
While the holy energy damaged him terribly, it also allowed him to defeat Itaxnael.
Weakened, Garm collapsed.
